Garabandal Station 12

Garabandal Station 12 brings us to the climactic moment of Christ's Passion—His death on the cross at Calvary. "It is finished," Jesus declares, and bowing His head, surrenders His spirit to the Father. The earth shakes, the veil of the temple tears, and darkness covers the land as the God-Man dies for the salvation of the world. At Garabandal, Mary urgently warned that many souls are dying without repentance, lost eternally because people have forgotten the reality of death and judgment. The apparitions called the faithful to meditate on Christ's Passion and death, to remember that eternity hangs in the balance for every soul. This station confronts us with the sobering truth that Jesus died to save us from hell—a reality the Garabandal messages insist we can no longer afford to ignore.

Jesus Dies on the Cross
V. We adore Thee, O Christ, and we praise Thee.
R. Because by Thy holy cross, Thou hast redeemed the world.

Lord, I stand at the foot of Your cross and contemplate what Your death means for me personally. You died so that I might live eternally. You suffered divine abandonment so that I would never be separated from the Father. You endured hell on the cross so that I would never have to endure it forever. Your death is the proof of God's love—there is no greater love than to lay down one's life for one's friends.

Apparition Insights

Miracle! Miracle!

Father Luis Andreu, a Jesuit priest, attended the apparitions in Garabandal on August 8, 1961. After witnessing an ecstasy and receiving information about the future Miracle from the visionaries, he was overheard saying repeatedly, "Miracle! Miracle!" and "Today is the happiest day of my life!" That same night, he died suddenly while traveling back from the village, though he showed no signs of illness. His death was seen by many as a confirmation of the apparitions—he had been granted a glimpse of the future Miracle and died in a state of extraordinary grace and joy.

Make Amends

The Virgin's second message concluded: "I, your Mother, through the intercession of St. Michael the Archangel, wish to tell you that you should make amends. You are now receiving the last warnings." The finality of this statement is chilling—these are the last warnings before the predicted events unfold. Mary identifies herself as Mother, emphasizing her protective concern for her children. Through St. Michael's intercession, she calls for reparation and penance. The time for conversion is now, not tomorrow, for tomorrow may be too late.

Consequences

If the conditional Chastisement occurs, it will result from humanity's rejection of the Warning and the Miracle. According to the visionaries, those who witness the Miracle and still refuse to believe will face terrible consequences. The Chastisement would involve cosmic phenomena including intense heat, the failure of all machinery and engines, desperate thirst with water evaporating, and widespread death. The visionaries wept even for innocent children who would suffer if this punishment comes. However, it remains conditional—fervent prayer and conversion can avert it.
