Garabandal Station 10

Garabandal Station 10 reveals Jesus stripped of His garments before the crowds at Calvary. This humiliation represents the complete vulnerability and self-emptying love of God made man. At Garabandal, Mary called the faithful to strip themselves of attachment to worldly things, vanity, and sin. The four young visionaries witnessed the Blessed Virgin appearing in simple, modest dress, exemplifying the humility Heaven desires from all souls. This station teaches detachment from material possessions and false dignity. The Garabandal messages warn against the excessive materialism and immodesty that characterize modern culture. Just as Jesus was stripped bare, we must strip away everything that separates us from God to stand naked in truth before Him.

Jesus is Stripped of His Garments
V. We adore Thee, O Christ, and we praise Thee.
R. Because by Thy holy cross, Thou hast redeemed the world.

Jesus, King of Glory, they stripped You of Your garments in mockery and contempt. The soldiers gambled for Your seamless tunic while You stood exposed to the jeering crowd. The robes that covered Your wounded flesh were torn away, reopening the wounds from Your scourging, causing fresh agony. Yet You endured this ultimate humiliation without protest, offering Your dignity as a sacrifice for our sins.

Apparition Insights

Acts of Reparation

During the apparitions, the girls were often told by Our Lady to perform acts of reparation and penance for the sins of the world, particularly sins of the flesh and immodesty. The Virgin appeared to the visionaries dressed modestly, and she taught them the importance of purity and modesty in dress and behavior. This emphasis on modesty stood in contrast to the growing cultural trends of the 1960s, which began the sexual revolution. Mary's message anticipated the moral confusion that would engulf Western society in the coming decades.

Make Many Sacrifices

The Virgin's message included: "We must make many sacrifices, perform much penance." This call to penance means voluntarily accepting discomfort, practicing self-denial, and offering up sufferings for the conversion of sinners. Penance purifies the soul, strengthens the will against temptation, and participates in Christ's redemptive work. Mary specifically asked for sacrifices to save priests and to turn away God's wrath from a sinful world. Without penance, conversion remains superficial and temporary.

Indestructible and Eternal

The permanent Sign that will remain at Garabandal after the Miracle will be indestructible and eternal. Scientists will study it but will be unable to explain it by natural means. It will be visible from a distance, and people will make pilgrimages to see it. The Sign will serve multiple purposes: confirming the truth of the apparitions, providing ongoing evidence of God's supernatural intervention, and continually calling people to conversion. It represents God's merciful persistence in reaching out to skeptical humanity.
