The Lourdes High Stations, also known as the Espelugues, offer a powerful climb up the rocky hillside overlooking the Sanctuary.
During my final day in Lourdes, I ventured out alone under the 2:00 PM sun to capture these 115 life-sized bronze figures. Despite the heat, the sheer scale and raw emotion of the artwork were so moving that I knew I had to share this pilgrimage with those who cannot be there in person.
Strength on the Hillside
The climb up the Espelugues is more than a walk; it is an encounter. Standing before those massive bronze figures under the afternoon sun, I felt the weight and the glory of the Passion in a way words can barely describe.
