Rosary for Friday

Rosary for Friday

Rosary for Friday is the day the world stood still—the day God gave His life for yours. Today, we enter the Sorrowful Mysteries not just as observers, but as disciples walking the narrow road to Calvary with our Lord.

Offer this Friday Rosary in reparation for sins, for those at the hour of their death, and in humble gratitude for the Gift of the Cross...

The Sign of the Cross
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Introductory Prayers

The Agony in the Garden

The Agony in the Garden

Virtue: Fervor in Prayer

On this Friday, we kneel with Jesus in the shadows of Gethsemane. He saw every one of our faces and felt the weight of every one of our sorrows. We pray for a heart that does not sleep when He asks us to watch and pray, seeking a fervor that consumes our doubts.

The Scourging at the Pillar

The Scourging at the Pillar

Virtue: Mortification

His flesh was torn for our healing. On Friday, we reflect on the physical price of our salvation. We pray for the grace of mortification—not to suffer for suffering's sake, but to tame our appetites and offer small sacrifices in union with His great one.

The Crowning of Thorns

The Crowning of Thorns

Virtue: Courage & Fortitude

The world mocked His Kingship with thorns. Today, we ask for the fortitude to remain loyal to Christ when the world mocks our faith. May we wear our beliefs with the same quiet dignity with which He wore that painful crown.

1 Our Father • 10 Hail Marys • 1 Glory Be

The Carrying of the Cross

The Carrying of the Cross

Virtue: Perseverance

The wood was heavy, the road was long, and the heat of the Friday sun was unforgiving. Jesus persevered for love of us. We pray for the strength to pick up our own crosses this day and follow Him, trusting that every step toward Calvary is a step toward Heaven.

1 Our Father • 10 Hail Marys • 1 Glory Be

The Crucifixion

The Crucifixion

Virtue: Forgiveness

"It is finished." On this Friday, we stand at the foot of the Cross with Mary. We contemplate the height and depth of a Love that died so we might live. We ask for the ultimate grace: to forgive as He forgave, and to die to ourselves so that He may live in us.

1 Our Father • 10 Hail Marys • 1 Glory Be

Closing Rosary for Friday Prayers

Peaceful Border
Hail Holy Queen

Hail, Holy Queen, Mother of Mercy, our life, our sweetness and our hope. To thee do we cry, poor banished children of Eve.

To thee do we send up our sighs, mourning and weeping in this valley of tears.

Turn, then, most gracious advocate, thine eyes of mercy toward us, and after this, our exile, show unto us the blessed fruit of thy womb, Jesus.

O clement, O loving, O sweet Virgin Mary.

V. Pray for us, O Holy Mother of God. R. That we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.

Prayer After the Rosary

O God, whose only-begotten Son, by His life, death and resurrection, has purchased for us the rewards of eternal life; grant, we beseech Thee, that by meditating upon these mysteries of the most holy Rosary of the Blessed Virgin Mary, we may imitate what they contain and obtain what they promise, through the same Christ our Lord. Amen.

V. May the divine assistance remain always with us. R. Amen. V. And may the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. R. Amen.
