Blue Army Tenth Station depicts the moment Jesus is stripped of His garments, standing in total vulnerability before the world. He allows His dignity to be mocked so that He might clothe us in His mercy. It is a profound lesson in detachment from the things of this world. Internally, as I contemplate this scene, I feel myself changing—growing deeper into a spiritual understanding of the lessons Jesus continues to teach even in the midst of His intense suffering. My Lord, I pray that You continue to open my eyes wider as I follow You.

Jesus is Stripped of His Garments
V. We adore Thee, O Christ, and we praise Thee. R. Because by Thy holy cross, Thou hast redeemed the world.
"My innocent Jesus, by the merits of the painful torment Thou hast experienced, help me to strip myself of all affection to things of earth, in order that I may place all my love in Thee."
— The Way of the Cross of Saint Alphonsus Liguori
A Deeper Journey into the Souls Present at the Blue Army Tenth Station
"We invite you into a spiritual exercise: listening to the imagined hearts of those who stood on the Way of the Cross, ending with a personal meditation."
Humility
The Seamless Tunic
"I wove that garment with my own hands, praying over every stitch as He grew. To see them tear it away, reopening His wounds, was like seeing His very dignity attacked. Yet, even stripped of everything, He stood with a majesty they could not touch."
"Do I strip others of their dignity through my words or my gossip?"
Callousness
The Spoils of War
"To us, clothes are just wages. We tore them away to shame Him, to show the crowd He was just another man. We were so focused on the silk that we ignored the Man standing there in the cold. We won the robe, but we missed the God standing right in front of us."
"What material 'prizes' am I chasing while ignoring the suffering of others?"
Vulnerability
The Exposed King
"I looked away in shame, not for Him, but for us. To see the Creator of the world standing naked before His creation was a sight that burned. He allowed Himself to be stripped so that we would never have to hide our own brokenness from God again."
"Am I brave enough to stand 'stripped' of my excuses before God?"
Personal Meditation
My Heart Ponders
"I spend so much time trying to 'clothe' myself in the approval of others, in titles, and in possessions. Jesus, You allowed Yourself to be stripped so that I could be clothed in Your righteousness. Help me to let go of my attachments and stand honestly before You."
"Lord, strip away my pride and clothe me in Your humility."
