🌿From Stillness to Surrender: How Faith Prepares Us to Leap

Sometimes, faith grows in quiet ways. Like waiting in stillness. Like walking forward even when you don’t feel it.

My journey of faith began in that silent place holding steady through grief, feeling unmoved while the world shifted around me.

For years, I sat in a quiet season, learning what it meant to walk in faith without always seeing God’s hand at work.

But that wasn’t the end of the story. It was the preparation. Because faith doesn’t only call us to stay. Sometimes, it asks us to leap.

✨ The Day I Let Go

There’s a kind of leap that feels like standing on the edge of a ladder, hands and feet off the rungs, nothing holding you up. That was me.

After years of enduring a toxic workplace and choosing humility, obedience, and restraint, God placed something new on my heart: it was time to let go.

No plan.
No job lined up.
No savings.
No safety net.
Just trust.

I knew the world would call this reckless. But I also knew I couldn’t stay. Not in my own strength. Not in obedience to God’s gentle prompting. This was my true leap of faith the moment I released every human assurance and stepped forward into God’s arms alone.

🕊️The Leap Isn’t About the Landing

We often think a leap of faith is about where we’ll land.

But faith isn’t about outcomes. It’s about surrender.

I didn’t leap because I was brave. I leapt because God invited me, and I was finally ready to trust that His hands were enough.

Faith had prepared me through the quiet years of waiting. Walking in faith had stretched me when I chose to stay and endure.

And now, the leap became the next right step the boldest trust I could offer.
And here’s what I’ve learned since: God catches you. Always.

Not always in the way you expect, but always in the way you need.

đź’¬ Reflection Question:

Have you ever felt called to let go—without a backup plan?
Could that be your invitation to trust?

🕵️‍♀️ What Taking a Leap of Faith Really Means

  • It means trusting God when obedience leads you out of the boat, not just through the storm.
  • It means releasing your grip on security and control.
  • It means believing God’s promises, even when you can’t see the next step.

Taking a leap of faith is both an end and a beginning. It’s the moment years of walking with God prepare you to trust Him fully.

✨ Saintly Wisdom

“Let us never grow tired of doing good, for in due time we shall reap our harvest, if we do not give up.”
— Galatians 6:9

“God will provide the rope.”
— St. Padre Pio (known for his advice to trust when taking risks in faith)

🙏 A Simple Prayer for the Leap

Jesus,
I have nothing but You.
I’ve held on as long as I could.
Now, I’m letting go not because I know what comes next,
but because I trust that You do.

Carry me.
Lead me.
Catch me.

I leap, because You are faithful.
Amen.
